Pannian Raveendran elected Communist Party of India (CPI) Kerala secretary


Former Lok Sabha member Panniyan Raveendran has been elected as the new State Secretary of Communist Party of India (CPI) on 9 April 2012 (Monday). The decision was taken at the party’s state council meeting convened here.
A nine member state secretariat and a 31 – member state executive committee have also been constituted. Veliyan Barghavan, KE Ismail, C Divakaran, CN Chandhran, KR Chandhra Mohan, T Purushothaman, Sathyan Mokeri and Prakash Mokeri were inducted in the state secretariat.

He was a member of the 14th Lok Sabha of India. He represented the Trivandrum constituency of Kerala and is a member of the Communist Party of India (CPI) political party. As of May 2011, he represents the Paravoor assembly seat for CPI.
