Mgr. George Rajendran SDB new Thuckalay bishop



Mgr. George Rajendran, SDB, 44, was appointed bishop of Thuckalay diocese of Tamil Nadu.
The appointments were announced by Major Archbishop Cardinal Mar George Alencherry at Mount St Thomas, headquarters of Syro Malabar Church, in Kochi.
Mgr. Rajendran, hailing from Panthalammoodu parish of Thukalay diocese, in Kanykumari district of Tamilnadu, was born to K. Thomas and Omana K. (Mary) on April, 14, 1968.
He was ordained priest on 29-12-2003.  He had his philosophical studies in Nashik, Divyadan and Theological studies in Shillong.  He was Asst. Headmaster in Guwahati DB School, Prefect of Studies in Savio Juinorate, Vice Principal of St. Anthony’s HigherSecondary School, Shillong and Vice Rector of the Minor Seminary.  Presently he continues to be the Vice Rector of the Minor Seminary and Principal of St. Anthony’s HigherSecondary School. He has Civil degrees of I.T.I (Electronics), B.Sc., M.A. (Education), B. Ed. and M. Ed.  He knows English, Tamil and Malayalam.
