Kerala State Film Awards 2012

The Kerala State Film Awards 2012 were declared. The award for the Best Film went to Kamal’s Celluloid  based on the life of J C Daniel, produced by Ubaid while the second Best Film Award was grabbed by Madhupal’s Ozhimuri, produced by P N Venugopal.
Lal Jose was chosen as the Best Director of 2012 for his film Ayalum Njanum Thammil.
Prithviraj Sukumaran
Prithviraj Sukumaran won the Best Actor award for his films Celluloid and Ayalum Njanum
Rima Kallingal
Thammil and Rima Kallingal, the Best Actress for 22 Female Kottayam and Nidra.
The second Best Actor Award went to Manoj K Jayan and the Second Best Actress to Sajitha Madathil for Kaliyachan and Shutter respectively. Farook Abdul Rahman got the Best Debut Director Award for Kaliyachan and Salim Kumar bagged the Best Comedian Award for Ayalum Njanum Thammil.
On the musical front, Vijay Yesudas was selected for the Best Male Singer and Sithara Krishnakumar for the best Female Singer. M Jayachandran won the award for Best Music Director for the songs in Celluloid and Best Lyricist award went to Rafeeq Ahammed for Spirit. According to the jury, the Best Background Music was scored by Bijibal for Kaliyachan and Ozhimuri. Madhu Neelakantan was adjudged the Best Cinematographer of the year for the film Annayum Rasoolum.

  • Best Editor                          :  B Ajith Kumar (Annayum Rasoolum)
  • Best Colourist                    :  Jayadev (Annayum Rasoolum)
  • Best Sound Recordist     :  M R Rajakrishnan (Manjadikuru)
  • Best Art Director              :   Suresh Kollam (Celluloid)
