He represented Ettumanoor constituency from 1982 to 1987. Prominent among his achievements were the establishment of the M.G. University at Athirampuzha and the K.S.R.T.C.Bus station at Ettumanoor. He served as a Syndicate Member of M.G. University, the president of Kerala Congress in Kottayam Distrct,state General Secretary of the party, etc.He began his career as a teacher at O.L.L.H.S. Uzhavoor. He retired as the Headmaster of the same school in 1989.He also served as the president of Knanaya Catholic Congress twice.
