The 57th National Film Award; Kutty Sranku sweeps National Awards


The 57th National Film Awards has given a big boost to veteran director Shaji N Karun, who was ignored by the Kerala State Award Committee.
Shaji’s off-beat and critically acclaimed Kutty Sranku won four major National Awards.
Kutty Sranku has got four National awards, ‘Swarna Kamal’ Award for Best Film, Best Cinematographer Anjali Shukla, Story and Screenplay for PF Mathews and Harikrishnan , Best Costumes Jayakumar . The film also got Sreekar Prasad a special jury award for his editing in the film.

Best Actor: Amitabh Bachchan for 'Paa'



Best Actress: Ananya Chatterjee for 'Abohoman'
Best Director: Rituparno Ghosh
Best popular film providing wholesome entertainment: 'Three Idiots'

Best Supporting Actor: Farooque Shaikh for 'Lahore'
Best Music: Amit Trivedi for 'Dev D'
Best Lyrics: Swanand Kirkire - "Behi hawa sa tha woh" ('3 Idiots')
Best Feature Film (Marathi): 'Natarang'
Best Feature Film (Hindi): 'Paa'
Best Feature Film (Bengali): 'Abohoman'
Best Special Effects: Kamal Kannan for 'Magadheera' (Telugu)
Best Choreography :: Siva Shankar master For 'Magadheera' (Telugu)
Special Jury Award: Editor Sreekar Prasad
Best Playback singer (male): Rupam Islam for 'Mahanagar'
Best Playback singer (female): Nilanjana Sarkar for 'Houseful'
