Jimmy George Foundation award for Sinimole Paulose

Arjuna awardee Sinimole Paulose has been chosen as the ''best state sportsperson'' for the prestigious Jimmy George Foundation award 2010. Announcing this here today, Jose George, chairman of Jimmy George Foundation, said the award, with Rs 25,000 as cash prize and a statuette, would be bestowed on the athlete in the first week of December at nearby Theravoor in Kannur district.
A five-member panel comprising Jose George, Olympian Suresh Babu, Robert Bobby George, D Deva Prasad and Sebastian George would be present during the occasion. A senior accounts official, Sinimole was the national champion in 2006, 2007 and 2008 in 800 metre and 1500 metre.
Hailing from Pambakuda in Ernakulam District, Sinimole had won the Asian All Star meet 1500 metre gold in 2008 and 2010. During 2000, 01 and 02 Simimole was National Junior champion in 800 m and 1500 m.
Sinimol Paulose  (born 24 June 1983) is an Indian middle distance runner. Her favorite events are 800 metres and 1500 metres. In 2009, she received Arjuna Award for her contribution to the Indian athletics.. Sinimol was born in Piravom in Ernakulam district of Kerala state. She represented India at Beijing Olympics.
In 2008 Sinimole was bestowed with the Arjuna award.
