‘Chandrayaan’ to hit screens soon

Chandrayaan-I, ISRO’s maiden moon mission which won India global acclaim, is finding immortality on film.Globetrotter Santhosh George Kulangara, who hopes to be the nation’s first space tourist, is giving the final touches to a movie on what he calls India’s greatest achievement since Independence.

'Chandrayaan,’ as the film is titled, is in the post-production stage, Santhosh told ‘Express’.

"It’s in English and will be a faithful documentation of the moon project. The idea is to ensure that this historic event is not forgotten by us," he said. "The event generated a lot of interest, but in truth, there are still people who believe that the rocket itself had landed on the moon."
The film uses some fictional elements, but mostly to give continuity to the story, said Santhosh, who has scripted and directed the film. The production is by his Labour India Group, which rolls out the popular TV travel series Sancharam that has run to 450 episodes.Read more
