Baby Jesus was born to the virgin Mary in the city of Bethlehem. Mary and her espoused husband Joseph had traveled to Bethlehem to pay taxes. Bethlehem was overcrowded with people, and the inns were all full. Joseph and Mary found a place to stay in a stable where the baby Jesus was born. Mary wrapped the babe in swaddling clothes and laid Him in a manger.
