Pope Benedict XVI said this Saturday that in the new year, he is ready to hold a conference of world religions’ leaders on preserving peace on Earth.
His Holiness suggests Assisi, Italy, to be the site of the conference.
25 years before, a historic meeting of religious leaders of Christian and Muslim countries and Israel took place in Assisi on Pope John Paul II’s initiative.
