EARTHQUAKE-Moderate quake rocks India-Nepal border

An earthquake of moderate intensity, measuring 5.7 on the Richter scale, was recorded in the India-Nepal border region today and was felt in Delhi and other places in the national capital region as well as many other parts of North India.The India Meteorological Department (IMD) said the quake, which had its epicentre at latitude 29.6 degrees North and 80.8 degrees East, occurred at 1701 hours at a depth of ten km.There were no reports of any damage caused by the quake, which was also felt in towns such as Ghaziabad and Noida, near Delhi.
