Mar Philoxinos took over the reins of Delhi diocese in 1996. He was the second metropolitan of the diocese after HG Paulos Mar Gregorios, who passed away in 1996.
Born on May 8, 1939, Mar Philoxinos was ordained a deacon at the age of 17. He went on to concentrate on academic pursuits and became a priest at the age of 33.
Funeral services will be held at Mount Tabore Dayara, Pathanapuram, on 21.11.2011.
