V.K Kumara Kaimal Honoured by Kerala Sahitya Akademy

Kerala Sahitya Akademy pays homage to “ Kaimal Sir”on the occasion of the completion of six decades of service by “Granthasala”.
Sri. V.K.Kumara Kaimal, popularly known as ‘Kaimal Sir’, has been selected as one of the five ‘Granthasala’ activists,who are being honoured on the occasion of the National Book Fair organised by the Akademy. The other  awardees are Palakeezhu Narayanan (Malappuram), Macchattu T.Nilakantan ( Trissur), C.K.Parvati Teacher (Palakkad) and P.K Kumaran Nair (Kasaragod). A judging committee consisting of Balachandran Vadakedathu (Vice-President of Kerala Sahitya Akademy), kavumbai Balakrishnan and Chinapurathu Murali has selected these awardees.
V. K Kumara Kaimal is currently one of the consultants of Labour India Publication.
Since 1954, he has been associated with the ‘Granthasala’.He has served as a member of
Kerala State Library Council, Member of State Children’s Literature Institute, Member of State Educational Advisory Committee,etc. Even at the age of 77, this native of Pala is highly active in various public activities.
