Poet Attur Attoor Ravi Varma has been selected for this year’s Ezhuthachan Puraskaram, the State government’s highest literary honour. The award, which includes a purse of Rs.1.5 lakh, a citation, and a statuette, was decided by a committee consisting of Kerala Sahitya Akademi, President of Perumbadavam Sreedharan (Chairman), D. Babu Paul, C.V. Balakrishnan, Akbar Kakattil, and Chief Secretary Sajan Peter (Member Secretary).

The Kendra Sahitya Academy award was won by Attoor Ravi Varma, one of the pioneers of modern poetry in Malayalam, for his contributions to the worlds of literature. It comes from a small village called Attoor, in the district of Thrissur, Kerala.
