Richard Branson opens world's first 'spaceport' in New Mexico

British billionaire Sir Richard Branson drinks champagne after rapelling down the side of the new Spaceport America hangar Monday, Oct. 17 in Upham, N.M. Branson dedicated the newly completed terminal and hangar on Monday, where his Virgin Galactic will stage its commercial space tourism venture.
British billionaire Richard Branson christened the world's first built-from-scratch commercial spaceport in New Mexico on 17.10.2011. He hopes his Virgin Galactic can begin commercial space tourism from the spaceport by the end of 2012.
