Social activist, writer, journalist, et al, Pala K M Mathew was all rolled in one and in 1989 and 1991 represented the Lok Sabha from Idukki. He had also served as the Director, State Institute of Children's Literature. He was also member of Press council of India, Congress (I) Intellectual group National Convener, Kerala State Khadhi Board Vice-Chairman, Agro-Missionary Corperation Chairman and also headed several Children's Literature groups.
